Introductions and Updates
I started this website because I decided to buy a scooter from Vietnam. I travel to Vietnam on a regular basis and have alway admired the Lambretta and Vespas floating around Saigon. Twelve years ago I could have purchased an original TV200 for $400. usd but I had no idea on how to get the scoot back to the States. Several years back I decided it would be great to get another Lambretta. The problem was that whenever I saw a Lambretta on Ebay or Craigslist that was halfway decent, it was snatched up quickly or sold for too much.
This led me to Vietnam in 2005 to look at Scooter shops. I like to think I have half a brain in my head but I made a decision to buy a scooter from a shop that I thought was halfway decent. I met the owner, spoke about my concerns from buying from Vietnam and let him know that there could be some additional business if the scooter was of quality.
The scooter was purchased from Huys Scooter now AstraVietnam and it was a complete mess when it arrived. The process was very frustrating because Huy did understand customer service or doing the right thing.
After that negative experience, I decided to start the website to share my story but also as a platform that people in the scooter community could share their experiences about buying scooters from Vietnam. I have been to 5 or 6 shops and I seen the Vietnamese build bikes well and other shops just completely bodge them. Their is nothing better than finding a shim in your motor made out of a Coke can, (see below). This site can only survive by the input it gets from the community, so share your story.

I do not take the approach that everything from NAM is crap. I buy lots of parts from ScootRS and if I was to buy a scooter tomorrow, it would be from ScootRS. I would not buy a Scooter off of Ebay because it was a good price. Don't Do It!
I hope this site helps and I am happy that I was able to make a lot of Scooter folk out there better prepared when dealing with these Vietnam Shops
